This section is dedicated to the fantastic trading game called TradeSports
TradeSports is truly a revolution in the way humans trade and play against each other.
The perfect game of skill is where you take on other humans, those walking creatures who gave up bananas for fried shrimp, and take their money using skill on a level playing field.
TradeSports is the place. There is nothing anywhere quite like it on the Internet.
While I truly enjoy the sports trading, their are a plethora of wagers and trades you can make.
You can trade financial markets, trade on Saddam's demise, trade on gold, oil, rocks stars, movie stars, the weather, best actor, and many others.
What makes Tradesports so unique, is when you make these wagers, you are trading with other people. Tradesports charges a very small transaction fee for the privilege of doing so.
When I first discovered Tradesports this whole concept was like a gambling awakening. The whole idea is an incredible evolution in trading.
It transcends the traditional role of places like Wallstreet and brokerage houses, and puts it right on your desktop.

I know of nowhere one can trade so cheaply, so safely. Make no mistake about it, you can make a lot of money at Tradesports if you get good at it.
TradeSports is a total blast to play. I have never had so much fun playing any game, ever. I trade everything there, so some times others get my lunch.
Here is the most fascinating thing about Tradesports.
I knew nothing of basketball. Still don't even know most of the rules. But I sure love to trade it! So I made a database to give me a rough idea of how it works. (Yes, all those who sign up through this site can have this database) .
It taught me something incredible. You don't need to know the game in general. You need to trade intelligently.
I do tend to research things, and found that most of the population in general who follow the game, cannot pick the winner better than 50% of the time!
This helped me develop a trading strategy to make some cash. I am doing ok with it. I did the same thing for football.
I needed a very simple method to learn the game. Here it is in all it's glory. I bet against the favorite every time! I know it will fail 50% of the time, and that is where trading ability and cutting your losses comes in.
From there, I followed games live, and have actually learned a few rules and regulations about basketball.
I have even traded cricket, though I do not have a clue what it is. It must be one of those food eating contests where they eat bugs or something... .
Point is, you can trade anything there, and you will learn to trade. Tradesports does an excellent job of making this very easy.
After you signup, give the 1-800 number a ring. Customer service will walk you through the basics.
And the customer service from TradeSports is 5 toaster. That means excellent. A great bunch of people with a really innovative idea that has changed the way people trade.
Use some skill, and take that other kids lunch money...If you want to find out more about specific trading strategies on TradeSports, there is a specific new product which has been developed and can be accessed by clicking this link: Mastering the TradeSports Trade Exchange
An overlay is the term for a bet that is paying higher odds than the odds against wining the bet actually are. In other words, you have the best of it - an edge, a mathematical advantage. This doesn't mean you are going to win the bet, of course. But you will book steady profits over time if the only bets you are making have an edge. Overlays come in all shapes and sizes. A horse paying 8-1 when it really has a 15% chance of winning (meaning it should only be paying 5-1) is an overlay. So is a financial bet that returns 200% (2-1) when the odds against the movement are only slightly more than even money.
To properly take advantage of overlays you will have to construct an optimal position sizing strategy. Wagers that are basically even-money propositions can stand up to a 10% of bankroll position size (although 8% is probably more optimal). The higher the odds are against the win, the less you should bet. Long-shot horses and financial bets are at the bottom of the scale and should command only around 2% of your bankroll per bet. On the other hand, when the odds of winning are in your favor - such as a sports bet where you are laying 2-1 but the true odds against the loss are 2.5 - 1 or higher, you can bet more. But not more than 15% of bankroll. So there you have your range: 2% to 15% of bankroll per wager depending on the odds, with even-money wagers being about 8%.
Tradesports. This betting exchange is the best place to work an overlay strategy, because they are available every day in a wide variety of sporting events as well as financial market movements and special events. To have an overlay you usually have to put up offers as opposed to taking them, but not always. Anytime you are getting +108 or better on what is truly a 50/50 chance, obviously you have an edge. Because sporting events against the line can be quirky and a few players are actually capable of beating this game, we recommend taking no less than +112 on a fair point-spread.
There are two basic ways to go about doing this. The first is to wait for the gigantic overlays that you will find from time to time, in which case you can transfer money into your Tradesports account as needed. Occasionally you will find a proposition where you are getting +150 or more on what should be an even-money wager. The other is to work the smaller overlays, such as the +112 on even-money deals, every day. If that is what you want to do you should just keep a separate bankroll in your Tradesports account. There is a lot of competition for the obvious even-money propositions on Tradesports. If you learn to make the proper adjustments as explained on that page you will find many more opportunities.
BetonMarkets. Finding overlays on the financial bets offered at BetonMarkets is painstaking and not for everyone. But they are there if you know what to look for and how to look for them. You need some basic trader training in order to do this, but not too much - as once you get into trading methods you will likely become unable to see the forest for the trees. The basic premise is that markets are equally likely to rise as well as fall over any short time frame. If you can find situations where BOM is offering a much higher payout on a bet in one direction over the other, you have a potential overlay. The best way to determine this is to keep track of payouts at certain increments above and below the price of the market for the timeframe you are interested in and look for clear standouts. The ebook Beat BetOnMarkets 2005, explains how to do this in detail, and is probably a must-read for anyone looking to exploit overlays at BOM.
Arbitrage is a fancy word that you see thrown around a lot in the investment world and on the internet. In the UK there are sports arbitrage services that alert you to these opportunities daily in football (soccer), tennis, and snooker. Most of the arbs are small and vanish fairly quickly. The idea here is getting into a proposition where you can win but cannot lose. You either break even or win. This is free money, and as you probably can guess when free money appears people find it so it doesn't stay there for long. Heavy betting will come in on both sides until the gap closes. The drawback to arbitrage is that it requires a large amount of capital to make a small return. Most positions are attempting to make a 1% to 3% return on capital. That's actually not too bad considering that there is no risk. Well, almost no risk - the company you placed funds with go suddenly shut down and go bankrupt. Once again we must stress only placing funds with well-established, large, reputable firms.

That being said, there are large returning arbitrage opportunities that appear from time to time between the player accounts we recommended. You should always be on the lookout for them when you are hunting for overlays or bonus chasing.
Sports Arbitrage. These opportunities will occur between Tradesports and the sportsbooks such as WWTS. They are almost always due to a mistake made by one of the market makers at Tradesports. For example, we once discovered a minor college basketball game where the line was only 1.5 off at Tradesports but the market maker was laying 8-1 on the underdog. He had $800 available so we grabbed all of it, risking $100 to win $800. (The odds should have been no more than 1.32 to 1 on this offer.) Then we bet $110 to win $100 at WWTS on the favorite. In this instance we could have been "middled" should the favorite had won by exactly 6 points, losing a total of $210. They ended up winning by more and we broke even instead. But this is exactly the kind of thing you should be on the alert for, and be prepared to offset accordingly so that you have a free bet working.
Financial Betting Arbitrage. The financial contracts traded at Tradesports will present arbitrage opportunities against the financial wagers offered at BetonMarkets rather frequently. This will take some work on your part in locating them. If you are already working the price tracking system described in Beat BetOnMarkets 2005, then it will be a simple matter to compare the prices with similar contracts at Tradesports. You could choose to offset the playable bet pricing anomalies that you come across rather than to ride them out as instructed in the manual. For you daytrader types, an intraday arbitrage system can also be worked playing the BOM double bets against the price of the daily indices close contracts at Tradesports. You are going to have to be on the ball to find these. Usually they will only be available during volatile, fast-moving market days. Take the Tradesports offer first, then offset with a double bet at BOM in the other direction. The play sets up best when you catch the market maker at TS napping, a little behind the market. This strategy can also incorporate intraday options trading. A new book by Andrew Kasch about winning at Tradesports has just been released and will go into much detail about this and other strategies.
