Spreadex has just announced the launch of its new mobile sports betting platform allowing their clients to place sports fixed odds sports spread bets on their iPhone or other smartphones.

The new mobile dealing system means bettors can bet on the very latest in-play sports prices wherever they may be, as well as managing their account by depositing cash or withdrawing winnings.

We are told that Spreadex’s mobile system has been created in-house and that the mobile sports betting platform is not just an ‘iPhone application’ but a website which has been optimised for use on the iPhone, Android and Symbian^3 operating systems.

To access the customised trading platform, bettors simply have to type www.Spreadex.com into their smartphone browser and they will be automatically taken to the optimised site.

Spreadex’s financial spread betting clients can also check their open financial trades via the platform, although they are still not able to open or close trades. The company’s complete mobile financial trading platform is expected to follow in early 2011.

Spreadex Marketing Communications Manager Andy MacKenzie commented: ‘We sought feedback from sports spread betting and sports fixed odds betting enthusiasts before starting work on the platform and therefore we’ve avoided some of the pitfalls of other mobile sports betting apps currently on the market’.

‘The result is a slick interface, providing quick access to thousands of sports markets with constantly updating prices, all with the added bonus that punters can choose between sports spread betting or sports fixed odds prices. We have been getting extremely positive comments from our customer base and now the focus is on producing a similar platform for our financial spread betting clients.’

As well as being accessible from the iPhone, the platform can be used on the iPod Touch and iPad. For Blackberrys, the platform has been optimised to work on the new Blackberry OS6 system presently being used by the Torch 9800 smartphone.
