WorldSpreads Recruits Former CMC Markets Execs
January 29, 2010Janice No Comments »WorldSpreads has expanded its team with a number of senior management appointments, persons which previously held senior roles at rival spread betting and CFD provider CMC Markets.
Appointment of New CEO of UK FSA Regulated Business
Roger Hynes has been appointed the CEO of WorldSpreads Limited, the Group’s UK FSA regulated business. There are also plans for Mr. Hynes to be appointed as an Executive Director of WorldSpreads Group plc and WorldSpreads Limited once regulatory approval has been granted.
Mr. Hynes was an executive director of CMC Markets plc until September 2008. Mr. Hynes joined CMC Markets in 1997 and, through holding a number of senior positions in the company during his twelve years at the company, was instrumental in CMC Markets’ growth from less than 30 employees to in excess of 1,100, with offices in more than 15 countries.
Following his appointment, Mr. Hynes said: ‘I am looking forward to bringing my 12 years experience of the CFD and Spread Betting market to WorldSpreads and ensuring the Group becomes a major player not just in the UK, but on a global basis’.
Other senior appointments at WorldSpreads Limited
WorldSpreads also announces the appointment to its UK FSA regulated business of Geoff Langham as Chief Operations Officer and Dominic Bacon as General Counsel and Group Head of Compliance. Both Mr. Langham and Mr. Bacon previously held similar senior positions at CMC Markets and will also be appointed to the Board of WorldSpreads Limited once regulatory approval has been granted.
Commenting on the new appointments, Conor Foley, Group CEO, said: ‘These are exciting times for WorldSpreads as we seek to build on our recent strong growth in our UK and international markets. I am sure that the new executive team will, with our existing innovative and entrepreneurial approach, drive our market share to a level where we will be challenging the more traditional CFD and Spread Bet providers’.
