British financial services firm IG Group (IGG.L) lifted its total dividend by a quarter on Tuesday after its profit rose 17 percent for its latest financial year, in-line with market expectations.
British spread-betting firm IG Group said its first-quarter revenue rose 29 percent, helped by continued growth in client numbers.
Volatility often tops the list of excuses for a lousy quarter. But for IG Group, the UK’s largest spread-betting firm, it’s a fundamental driver. Google searches for “spread betting” in the UK rose 41 per cent in August, as markets shuddered.
Spread betting company IG Group Holdings PLC said its year-on-year group revenue for the quarter to end-August rose more than 60 pct as it benefited from high levels of equity market volatility.
Spread betting specialist IG Group increased its half-year pretax profit by 45% on a similar gain in turnover fuelled by expanding abroad, the company said.
