I’m pretty experienced spread betting the stock markets which is why I’m keen to get my teeth into sports betting. Stocks are too volatile at the moment and could be for a while for my style of trading.
If you haven’t seen the BetTrader video, Adam grinds away solidly for 4 hours running multiple short term trades per race, but only manages his £56 or so. My experience in stocks has been more medium term and that’s how I’m trying to develop my trading style for racing. Some of the info on EasyTraderPro (I’m always suspicious of anything with ‘Easy’ or ‘Pro’ in the title) is useful but one of his methods is short term on low liquidity greyhound races. As you can imagine pickings are thin on a market like that no matter how good you are at it, because getting decent amounts matched are impossible.
On sports betting systems there’s always little bibs and bobs that can be learnt from most systems, but for me sports betting is the way forward. Like everything that’s worth doing you need to go through that learning curve. The forum on BetTrader is full of wannabe traders wringing their hands about how much money they’re losing, but I think that they’re falling for the ‘easy money’ lure of trading which as Mark says doesn’t happen. There’s no such thing as a free lunch or a holy grail.
Remember that spread betting on sports can make or break a person in a matter of minutes. You HAVE to know what you're doing when you start, and you have to be controlled in everything you do.'
