4Advantages:
no slippage except in fast moving markets, fast to use, good spreads
Disadvantages:
platform loads slowly
I’ve been playing around on gftUK global markets futures/currencies spreadbet platform. Much better than IG/itt charts. Far more flexible and quicker to use. Users I have spoken to all say the same – no slippage except in fast moving markets when dealing from price ticket. All orders get filled without slippage. The chart cannot be slowed down as per most spreadbetters sites but is always actual real time. They can accept automatic trading from likes of Tradestation or Metatrade. It is virtually the same as direct access broker such as Interactive Brokers but you can trade from as little as £1 per point. Personal education adviser let me link into his trading platform today to show me how he sets his platform up including multi page preset screens as per sharescope. So one page can be all one instrument with say four charts set to 1 min, 5min, 15min & 1 hr and the next page maybe several differnt instruments all same time frame. All deal from chart. Contingent orders available – not so on ITT charts. Best though is spread is 1 point on ftse/dax and two points on Dow. I do about 7 trades per day at average £15 per point for 4 days per week. That saves me about £400 per week.

4Advantages:
like 1 pip spreads on FTSE, DAX and CAC!
Disadvantages:
slow platform?
well I have really enjoyed their demo platform and have now opened a proper account with them, their software is brilliant. i especially like the trailing stop order function and the 1pip spread on the FTSE, DAX and CAC! Hopefully GFT will be a catalyst for other SB’s to implement trailing stops.

3.3Advantages:
no slippage…
Disadvantages:
re-quotes!!, daily positions are closed and re-opened each day crytstallising profits/losses, slow platform
No slippage – just masses of requotes and trading platform slow to bring up price ticket. Not what you want on 1 minute chart trading. Also, don’t like that daily positions in spreadbetting are closed and re-opened each day crystallising profits/losses.

4.3Advantages:
competitive spreads and margins, good support
Disadvantages:
opening account was a hassle
Very impressed with GFT. Opening an account was a bit of a hassle but the spreads (especially on indices) are competitive, the margin requirements are excellent and the support has been good as well. Trading is better than other sites (apart from IG which is also excellent), never been faced with being unable to trade when I should be able to.

2.8Advantages:
competitive spreads
Disadvantages:
customer service is robotic
The thing that puts me off at GFT is their customer service. EVERY time i try to chat live and ask a quick question such as ‘please can you tell me the spread on this currency pair…. ?’ – I just get a robot on the other end saying they want my name and email. I HATE THIS attitude, i am the client, give me the answer and stop peeing me off, you might make some money out of me that way!

3.3Advantages:
good margins/spreads
Disadvantages:
delays in execution
Watch out trading on market orders with GFT. When you place a market order it goes into the ‘Working Orders’ tab and gets filled within a few seconds, however on occasions it can stay in the working orders tab unfilled and pending, with price changing, for anything up to 5 minutes before being filled (sometimes longer during data!). You can’t cancel the order, you don’t get requoted, you just get filled at whatever price they like.

3.5Advantages:
Disadvantages:
I am using them live and find them OK. (that is between, GFT, CMC and IG) their charting software is however pants, I have been in direct dialogue with them about it, geezer called Ben Hagen rang me from Chicago yesterday, said he was going to put forward some of my suggestions for improving it.
Fills seem to vary between ‘instant’ and around 5 seconds or so.
